Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) play a pivotal role in agricultural extension services worldwide. These organizations, comprised of individuals from local communities, contribute to the dissemination of vital information, knowledge and technology to farmers and rural populations. This paper examines the global scenario of CBOs' involvement in agricultural extension, highlighting their significance, challenges faced, and potential solutions. The diverse ways in which CBOs contribute in enhancing agricultural practices, fostering rural development, and promoting sustainability have been explained as well as best practices and offer recommendations for strengthening the collaboration between CBOs, governments, and other stakeholders in creating a sustainable agricultural future have been identified.
