Attitude of trainees towards Long Term Skill Development Courses Organized by Skill Development Centre, PAU Ludhiana

Abstract

The Skill Development Center concentrated on the improvement of employment opportunities in agriculture and related fields as well as the development of entrepreneurial skills to increase production and farm income. The National Skill Development Corporation plans, oversees, evaluates, certifies, and keeps track of all skill development programs. These courses' certificates are accepted across the nation. These courses provide skills and hike their business doing to make them self-reliant by initiating their own professions. Training is the compass that guides individuals towards excellence and organizations towards success. It is the pathway to acquiring new skills, refining existing ones, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The phenomenon of learning and skill stagnation is increasingly emerging as a significant impediment to the progress of society. The study entitled on attitude towards the training courses. The study was conducted from Punjab. A list of 300 trainees from three different training courses i.e, Three months young farmer Integrated crop production training course, mushroom cultivation training course and rearing of bee-keeping training course during the period of 2016-2019 was obtained from Skill Development centre, PAU Ludhiana. Out of the procured list, a total sample of 300 respondents was selected from random sampling technique. Attitude of trainees towards long term skill development courses was measured by developing attitude scales (Likert 1932). Data were collected by personal interview method. Collected data were analyzed with the suitable statistical techniques. The study revealed that after training the majority of trainees had favourable attitude towards long term skill development courses.
