Analyses of Socio-engineering Attributes of Farm Beneficiaries under BC Programme in Hyderabad Karnataka

Abstract

The research study was conducted on impact of training programme on knowledge, perception and attitude of stakeholders towards Bhoochetana programme. The Raichur, Koppal and Bellary districts were purposively selected based on their maximum area under cotton cultivation. The random sampling procedure is being used to identify 180 beneficiaries. The ex-post-facto research design used for the study to know the analysis of socio-engineering attributes of farm beneficiaries under Bhoochetana Programme in Kallyana Karanataka. It was revealed that majority (73.33%) of the beneficiaries were middle aged followed by old age farm beneficiaries (22.22%) and young age group constituted only 4.44 per cent of the beneficiaries. revealed that majority (48.33 %) of beneficiaries were educated up to middle school followed by illiterates (27.78%), high school (16.67%), college (4.44%) and graduation and above (2.78%). cent per cent of cotton and groundnut farmers were married. 60.00 per cent of beneficiaries belonged to medium farming experience category followed by medium experience (24.44%) and low experience (15.56 %). just above the half (55.00 %) of the beneficiaries belonged to small farmers category followed by marginal (23.89%), medium (11.11%) and big (10.56%) farmers categories respectively, two fifth (40.00 %) of the beneficiaries belonged to high extension contact followed by low (32.78 %) and medium (27.22%) categories. over two fifth (43.33%) of the beneficiaries were in medium mass media utilization category followed by high (33.89%) and low (22.78%) utilization categories. majority (70.56%) of the beneficiaries contacted KSDA extension personnel monthly followed by representatives of private input agencies (56.67%) and SMS of KVK (55.56%). Majority (88.89%) of the beneficiaries never contacted warehouse officials.
